With nearly three decades of hands-on experience in the landscape construction industry, Andy Bessey is the founder and owner of Desert Horticulture. A Tucson native and University of Arizona alumnus, Andy grew up surrounded by the art and science of desert landscaping — a foundation that shaped his lifelong dedication to creating outdoor spaces that thrive in the Southwest.

Since establishing Desert Horticulture in 1996, Andy has led hundreds of residential and commercial projects across Southern Arizona, from intimate backyard retreats to large-scale public installations. His work can be seen in some of Tucson’s most beloved spaces, including multiple gardens at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, where his craftsmanship and design sensibility continue to inspire visitors and horticultural professionals alike.
